[ conversation with the artist]

ARTIST STATEMENT

Art is expression without the requirement of “meaning”. It is subjective observation unburdened by subject. It is a liberating, enlivening process that is driven by a profound desire to illuminate a truth.

Art can be a transformational activity both for the artist and the viewer. It is, (as described by David Wang, Mars Hill Review #21) “a messenger of grace (coming) into a world of regimentation and protocol.” We are all artists and poets, writers and dancers, singers and song writers. We all hunger for that grace, that one truth. We all seek those golden moments of enlightenment.

It is my intent to fully utilize this “messenger of grace” as a means to explore this spiritual and physical journey we all find ourselves on. In doing so I hope to provide others the opportunity to enter into and experience the grace and abundance that exists within their own lives.

To see a world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

-William Blake
"Auguries of Innocence"
